Bus service can shorten a leg, but traffic and queues vary. Start early and finish Kinkakuji before last entry; allow a full day including Osaka travel.

Wear suitable shoes and check trail opening and weather. If the trail is closed or unsuitable, return to Kibuneguchi and ride Eizan to Kurama, then make a separate temple ascent. This is not an easy city walk.
