The story behind this place
Nene-no-Michi means “Nene’s road.” Nene was the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a 16th-century ruler who helped unify Japan. After his death, she established nearby Kodaiji in his memory, giving this quiet lane a personal connection with a major historical figure.
