Choose a one-hour introduction, a three-hour neighborhood visit, a half day (about five hours), or a full day. Regional routes show both local visit time and total time with the Osaka round trip. Some long days exceed ten hours. Walking estimates are shown separately.
Getting between neighborhoods
Every route starts and finishes at a station. Routes contain two or three Places; Enryakuji is a dedicated single-place mountain visit. Use the rail connections shown on the route page, and check the current network before travelling.
Walk into Nara Park, continue to Todaiji, then return southwest to Kofukuji near the station. Allow 15–25 minutes from the park area to Todaiji and 20–30 minutes onward to Kofukuji.
Check paid-hall opening times. The park overlaps the temple surroundings; the walking estimate does not count the same connection twice.

Horyuji first, Nara Park later
Culture & HistoryDay Trip
Visit Horyuji, walk back to the station, take JR to Nara, then walk to the park. Allow 70–100 minutes from temple to park including walking, rail and waiting.
Rail-only intercity travel still means substantial walking. Todaiji or Kofukuji can be an optional choice in Nara; doing both interiors would extend this day. A local bus is available if needed.

Hasedera, Mount Miwa & Nara
Culture & HistoryDay Trip
Start early at Hasedera, return to the station and travel via Sakurai to JR Miwa for Omiwa Shrine. Then use JR via Sakurai toward Nara and finish with an outdoor park walk.
Allow 60–90 minutes between Hasedera and Omiwa, then 75–105 minutes to Nara Park. This is a long day with stairs and multiple connections; omit paid Nara temple interiors. If delayed, end after Omiwa.
Make a focused morning visit around Kongobuji and Danjo Garan, then descend by bus, cable and Nankai train to Kudoyama for a short afternoon town visit.
Allow 90–120 minutes from Koyasan town to Kudoyama and roughly 90–120 minutes back to Namba. Leave the mountain early enough for town facilities; this long day excludes a long Okunoin visit and the Choishi-michi hike. If connections slip, keep Koyasan as the only visit.
Times include browsing and breaks; walking distances are planning estimates. Check current opening hours and transport before setting out.
