Start with a short Nara Park stroll, visit Todaiji’s Great Buddha Hall, then continue through the park to Kasuga Taisha and return to Kintetsu-Nara. The park connects the sights, but the stops below reserve separate time for the Buddha Hall and shrine. Make the deer pause brief enough to keep the later visits comfortable, and leave the longer hillside detours for a second day.
Begin with Nara Park. Use the broad park area as a relaxed connection between temples. 15 min–25 min: A short deer and park pause; connecting park walks are separate. Continue to Todaiji. Choose the paid Great Buddha Hall, then leave time for the surrounding precincts. 1 hr–1 hr 15 min: Great Buddha Hall, without extra museum or hillside halls. Finish at Kasuga Taisha. Allow time for the forest approach and shrine precincts. 30 min–45 min: Focused shrine precincts and lantern-lined paths.
The outlined route starts at Kintetsu-Nara Station and finishes at Kintetsu-Nara Station. Keep to the Great Buddha Hall and a focused Kasuga precinct visit. Nigatsudo, museums and the botanical garden need extra time. Keep food and bags away from deer; use only designated deer crackers if feeding.
Compare the local visit allowance with the separate total including the Osaka round trip. These are planning ranges, not live train results. Check the return connection before setting out, and open each Place page for access, admission and current visitor guidance.
Save the listed stops to My Route if you want to reorder them or keep notes. Paid attractions, meals and transport are arranged separately; this self-guided outline is not a booked tour.
