Umeda depachika food halls.
Choose a food hall in Hankyu, Hanshin or Daimaru Umeda rather than trying to cover every counter. Ask where purchases may be eaten and confirm allergens with the staff.
The story behind this place
Railway entrepreneur Ichizo Kobayashi helped pioneer the station department store with Hankyu’s opening in 1929. Shopping became part of the daily train journey. Today’s depachika, or department-store basement food halls, continue that close relationship between railway travel and city life.
