The story behind this place
Namba Walk combines an underground pedestrian station connection with shops and restaurants. Its numbered sections help make sense of the east–west route beneath central Namba.
The shopping street is also part of an everyday journey through the city. People heading for trains share the passages with shoppers and diners. Notice how signs for stations, numbered sections and named plazas provide a different set of landmarks from the streets above.
Plan around the part of the passage you actually want to visit. An underground connection does not mean every station entrance or shop is equally close. Use the official floor map to choose a section, then check the relevant exit before returning to Dotonbori or the surrounding streets.
