The story behind this place
Some of Nakazakicho’s older wooden houses survived the wartime destruction that changed much of central Osaka. Later residents and small businesses adapted these buildings into cafés and creative spaces. The neighbourhood’s appeal comes partly from this continuity of everyday homes.
