Kyobashi bars & under-the-tracks dining.
Explore the izakaya lanes around Kyobashi Station, then the restaurants beneath the Keihan tracks at El Kyobashi. Choose a few small dishes and allow time to compare menus. The east-side drinking streets and west-side railway arcade are different parts of the neighborhood.
The story behind this place
Kyobashi means “Kyoto bridge,” recalling a crossing associated with the old road toward Kyoto. The historic bridge is not beside today’s station. Its name travelled into the identity of a much larger neighbourhood as the modern city and railway network grew.
