The story behind this place
Ebisu is a deity associated with prosperity, especially for merchants. Shrine tradition says Imamiya Ebisu was founded in 600 to protect Shitennoji’s western side. Its enduring appeal to businesses makes it a particularly fitting shrine for Osaka, a historic merchant city.
