Dojima riverside promenade.
Choose a short stretch of the public riverside paths around Watanabebashi. Cross at a bridge when needed; the riverbanks are not one uninterrupted promenade. Evening lights depend on the buildings and events.
The story behind this place
Dojima was a centre of rice trading when rice served as both food and a form of wealth. Its exchange received official recognition in 1730 and became an important early futures market. The riverside once connected warehouses, merchants and boats.
